SPORT SUPPLY GROUP WELCOMES MORE THAN 130 ASSOCIATES INTO ITS NEWLY FORMED ASSOCIATE PROGRAM REACHING MORE THAN 27 MILLION PARTICIPANTS

Company Looks to Expand Venture into the Retail and Dealer Market

Dallas, Texas Thursday, May 30, 2002 - Sport Supply Group, Inc. (OTCBB: SSPY) today announced that it has entered into agreements with more than 130 organizations to jointly market and promote the sale of Sport Supply’s products utilizing the associate organization’s websites. The organizations signed as associates in the past several months by the Company include leagues, youth sport organizations, private industry and a variety of other organizations looking to market sporting goods products to their participants. The associates receive a revenue share that many times provide necessary funds that would otherwise have to be generated by other means, such as donations and public budgets.

Sport Supply Group is a leading direct marketer and B2B e commerce supplier of sporting goods equipment to the institutional and youth sports market place. Athletes, coaches and instructors in schools, colleges, universities, governmental agencies, camps and youth organizations across the country use the Company’s products.

The Company developed its associate program to enable an organization to market and promote more than 8,000 sporting goods products directly to its participants by way of an on-line store. Product, technology and support are provided by Sport Supply Group and the marketing and promotion of the organization’s on-line store are provided by the associate to its individual members. The solution offered by SSG allows the associate to develop e commerce business to it members without any investment in technology. A high degree of customization such as unique site graphics, unique product offerings and many other features are available to the associate to customize their site to the extent desired.

The Company’s solution is entirely turnkey. Integration, customization and ease of use are among the reasons the Company believes many organizations have signed up for the program.

John P. Walker, President, stated "We are very pleased with the acceptance of our associate program which has been target marketed to select organizations. The associates signed thus far represent a small portion of the number that have been contacted by the Company. We have many more proposals currently under consideration with the boards of directors and trustees of other organizations.

This program allows those organizations that otherwise could not afford to develop the technology required to build an e-commerce solution, the ability to market products used by their members participating in sports programs. Equally important is that the program allows the organization to generate funds to support and achieve their individual financial objectives.

We are now offering the same program to organizations in the retail and wholesale channel. We believe these types of companies in the sporting goods trade will benefit significantly from the program without having to make the costly investment in technology and working capital they would otherwise have to."
